Just got back from the most amazing weekend away after I won a competition with Revlon to stay in London at the Pestana Chelsea Bridge Hotel and attend Antonio Berardi's show LFW, with lot's of other amazing extras thrown in too, such an amazing prize! Here's what we got up to.
Sunday - my sister and I arrived at the hotel and we were checked into an executive room on the 9th floor. The room was lovely and that evening we ate in the restaurant downstairs - a three course meal with a bottle of wine which included some of the best food I have ever tasted, we were treated like VIP's for the whole evening and it was great!
Monday - Alarm went off at 6.30am so we had time to get ready and go down for breakfast before a car came to pick us up at 9am to take us to Senate house. Angela, the lady who works for advertising agency, Holler and represents Revlon also met us in the car and we went to the show together. We arrived at the most beautiful venue, really unique for a catwalk show and really offered a glimpse of what we were to expect from the collection. As we were walking up to the balcony to find our seats I spotted Olivia Palermo sitting front row by herself, quietly texting and waiting for the show to start, she is even more beautiful in real life, I was in complete awe!
Overall the show was incredible, sharp tailoring featured throughout, with lots of peplum shapes and contouring panels of bold colours down the backs of coats. Lot's of metallic colours were also shown, a huge trend for next season. The hair styling made all of the models look like clones, which was weird but definitely in a good way. The shoes by Manolo Blahnik caused a lot of trouble for many of the models who tripped up the stairs just as they were finishing their walks, lot's of gasps and yelps from the crowd, especially the lady next to me who bellowed, "SOMEBODY HELP HER!", as one girl slipped over, thankfully the model behind her helped her to get backstage.
After the show had finished we made our way out and spotted Yasmin Le Bon and Paige and I noticed a few of the Revlon goodie bags had been left behind, so since we didn't get one we thought we would take the opportunity to smoothly grab one each as we walked out, £70 of make up in each bag we would have been mad not to, we are students after all!
Next we made our way to Paramount, a restaurant located on the 32nd floor of the Centre Point building near Oxford Street where we had another three course meal and bottle of wine. I ate the crab to start, trio of pork as a main and then sorbet and ice cream to finish. The views were incredible and we could see across the whole of London, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for great food and a different form of sight seeing. The lovely lady from Revlon also left two more goody bags waiting for us, amazing!
That evening we were picked up at 7.30pm and taken to another incredible restaurant, Harvey Nichols fifth floor, where we met my boyfriend who also dined with us. This time we had a 5 course meal which was lovely and the portions were small enough for us to not be left feeling like complete whales by the end of it as we were still pretty stuffed from lunch!
Tuesday - Managed to get a bit of a lie in before getting up for breakfast and then checking out of the hotel at 11am. As our train was at 6pm we decided to go to Brick lane and do some vintage shopping, then we headed over to Covent garden and drank tea for the rest of the afternoon, lovely.
So overall it was an incredible weekend. The highlight was definitely being able to see a show at LFW. It's made me all the more determined to start a career within fashion and hopefully that will also mean I can live the kind of lifestyle I've had the luxury of experiencing this weekend. Although we did encounter a lot of embarrassing moments, like getting stuck in entrance of the hotel and walking into an building full of offices thinking it was the restaurant, just shows that are definitely not used to living the luxurious lifestyle yet, I'm sure we could get used to it though!
My pictures aren't brilliant but check out the video.
